Seri Teratai, the historic official residence of Penang's Chief Minister, is a colonial-era mansion in George Town with significant governmental importance. After being unoccupied for a decade due to structural concerns, the residence was reinhabited in 2019, demanding a modern, discreet, and highly secure access control and surveillance system to protect this heritage property while meeting 21st-century security standards. 

Project Requirements – Ultimate Security 

The client requires a comprehensive security solution to ensure the safety and smooth operation of the government building. This includes advanced surveillance and entrance control systems, such as high-quality cameras, NVRs, and parking barriers. Additionally, they need an integrated software solution to seamlessly and efficiently manage video surveillance and parking management simultaneously. 

Function Description 

To address these needs, ZKTeco implemented a comprehensive AI-driven security system  featuring ZKBio Sense Hybrid Light IP Cameras for perimeter and building surveillance. These advanced cameras utilize deep learning to accurately distinguish humans, vehicles, and  objects while fltering out false alarms like animals or weather interference. Video data is processed and stored by the BioSense NVR, which enables rapid retrieval of tagged events and  24/7 recording. For controlled vehicle access, CMP200 Automatic Barriers were installed, offering silent operation and a sleek design that blends with the property’s aesthetics. The entire  system is managed through ZKBio CVSecurity, a unified platform integrating video analytics,  access control, and real-time alerts for security personnel. 

By combining cutting-edge AI technology with discreet hardware, ZKTeco delivered a  future-proof system that respects the residence’s historical significance while meeting stringent government security standards.
