Challenge 

Given its extensive student and faculty base and a large number of daily vehicular entries and exits, the SRMIST faced challenges in managing campus security. Hostel access needed to be  more secure to prevent unauthorized entry and vehicle entry points at multiple main gates were often congested and lacked security due to manual monitoring and verifications. The institute was in need of a centralized and automated Entrance Control system that could  handle both pedestrian and vehicle traffic seamlessly, while ensuring security, convenience and operational efficiency.

The proposed security solution for SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST)  integrates advanced technologies to enhance campus security while ensuring efficient traffic management. This comprehensive approach includes the ZKTeco TS200 Plus Series Tripod Turnstiles, BG1000 and BG2000 Series Parking Barriers, UHF312 Readers and Tags, C3-400B Access Controllers, and the ZKBio CVSecurity Software Platform.

Quick Vehicle Access and Exit 

The solution enables quick access and exit of vehicles, as the parking barriers facilitate high throughput, significantly reducing congestion at entry points. This is particularly beneficial during peak hours when vehicle movement is at its highest.

Enhanced Vehicle Security 

The integration of UHF readers allows for fast identification of vehicles, ensuring that only authorized vehicles enter, thus enhancing security while maintaining efficient traffic flow.

Controlled Pedestrian Access 

The TS200 Plus Tripod Turnstiles provide controlled access for pedestrians, allowing for rapid entry without compromising security. The combination of biometric and card access ensures that only verified individuals can access sensitive areas,  further securing the campus environment.
