Project Requirements
A. Exclusive Access Rights
In the building, users living in two separated rooms share one bathroom, thus a single bathroom has two doors, one door for one room’s access. As our client expects to provide a free and comfortable space for their users for better physical and mental well-being, they need to ensure that no unnecessary conflict or misunderstanding is caused by unsatisfactory management of facilities. They demanded an effective access control system to ensure a user has exclusive access right of the bathroom once he or she accessed without being interrupted.
Solution
• We deployed each door a unit of ProID 20 RFID Card Reader, all readers are controlled by InBio Pro 460 Access Controllers, and all devices are centrally managed by ZKBioSecurity Access Control Software.
• Each user is issued with a user card. Users are required to swipe their cards to have access to the bathroom.
• With ZKBioSecurity's Global Linkage function, once any door of the bathroom is accessed, the system automatically recognizes, and locks the other rooms' door to refuse any access of others (even if he or she swipes card properly), thus only the user of the bathroom has the access right to prevent any accidental entry to the bathroom.
• The other rooms' users will be notified that the bathroom is being occupied.
• As soon as the bathroom is no longer occupied, all locks of bathroom doors will be released, and the bathroom is available for use again.
B. Time Zone Control
Apart from rooms, the building also has other amazing facilities including a spacious rooftop garden that allows residents to enjoy the surrounding landscape and its beautiful nature, a nurse station with electronic nursing and monitoring systems enhancing the quality of care. Our client hopes to ensure that the users of those general areas are under close care, thus they wished to limit the opening period of the general areas.
Solution
• ZKBioSecurity as a professional access control and entrance control software, is able to flexibly set time zone of all areas. Access are only granted within the set time zones of a certain area. As time zone access can be set independently, bathrooms are accessible 24-hour while the common areas are only accessible within the set period of time.
