Wema Bank, a leading financial institution in Nigeria, is committed to enhancing security and operational efficiency across its branches and corporate offices. As part of this commitment, the bank has implemented a robust Visitor Management System (VMS) to regulate and streamline visitor access while ensuring compliance with security protocols and organizational policies.
The Visitor Management System is designed to integrate seamlessly with Wema Bank’s existing IT infrastructure, providing a centralized platform for managing visitor entries, access control, and attendance tracking. The solution is scalable and tailored to meet the bank’s specific security and operational requirements.
The implementation of the VMS at Wema Bank involved deploying an on-premises solution installed on the client’s server.
· 10 Access Points
· 10,000 Visitors
· 7 Registration Points
· 18 Static IP Addresses
· 18 Free Network Switch Ports
· Integration with the bank’s staff information database for visitor reservation
The Visitor Management System is a web-based application that operates within the bank’s secured network environment. The system supports custom branding, multilingual options, automated notifications, and contactless check-in via facial recognition and palm authentication. Visitors can check in using facial recognition technology, ensuring seamless and secure access control. Additionally, mobile phone-based gate access can be enabled upon request, subject to additional licensing.
Security, Integration and Compliance
The VMS is designed to integrate with Wema Bank’s security framework, providing a seamless and secure approach to visitor authentication and access management. While the system supports various authentication protocols, it does not offer Single Sign-On (SSO) or third-party identity verification services. All authentication processes are managed internally within Wema Bank’s security architecture. To ensure business continuity, the system allows for manual and scheduled backups, providing data recovery options in the event of server failure. Periodic backup and disaster recovery (DR) measures are incorporated to safeguard critical visitor data.
