Miri Sentral is the new main bus terminal in Miri, a city in northern Sarawak, Malaysia, on the island of Borneo. Miri  is known for its oil and gas industry, structured urban planning, and strong infrastructure in education, healthcare,  and utilities. Previously, bus services operated from the Miri Express Bus Terminal in Pujut Corner. The opening of  Miri Sentral at a new location marks a significant upgrade in public transportation. This modern terminal aims to  provide improved services, greater comfort, and better connectivity for travelers. Its development reflects Miri’s  ongoing efforts to enhance urban mobility and support the city’s continued growth.

Project Requirements

A turnstile that seamlessly integrates with EasyBook, permitting entry exclusively to passengers with valid bus  tickets via instant authentication. A turnstile that operates reliably under high-demand conditions, ensuring smooth passenger flow even during  peak hours with its robust, weather-resistant design.

Project Solution

At MIRI Sentral, the implementation of ZKTeco’s SBTL500 Swing Barrier, seamlessly integrated with EasyBook’s  ticketing platform, significantly enhances both passenger experience and security. This solution ensures instant  authentication by allowing entry only to passengers with valid bus tickets, effectively eliminating fraudulent  access and reducing delays. Designed to manage high passenger volumes, the system performs reliably during  peak hours, maintaining smooth flow and minimizing queue times.

The project marks a milestone for ZKTeco Malaysia, serving as a live proof of ZKTeco’s seamless integration  capabilities and robust system performance. It also demonstrates ZKTeco’s potential and ability to expand its  footprint within larger-scale public transportation infrastructures. This deployment is a significant advancement  towards smarter, safer, and more efficient transportation hubs throughout Malaysia.
