Client Overview 

Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management & Technology (TAR UMT) is a non-profit private university in Malaysia, with a legacy of excellence and a global outlook. It boasts over 310,000 alumni, including industry leaders and entrepreneurs. With more than 34,000 students, including international peers from over 30 countries, TAR UMT offers a strong academic environment. Its ICT Centre provides rescources for students and the community to engage with digital technologies and informations systems.

Requirement

In order to provide an ensured safety of environment for both educators and student, TAR UMT required an enhanced efficiency of the access control system. However, there are challenges  including:

· Seamless Integration of the existing system

As TAR UMT already has an existing access control infrastructure that works properly, the entire system should be integrated with, allowing centralized monitoring and management of all access points. Both the flap and swing barriers must be configured to work together, ensuring consistent and uninterrupted access for authorized users.

· Enhancement of User Experience 

The system must provide a user-friendly interface for both students and staff, ensuring that access is quick and convenient. The security gates should operate quietly and smoothly to ensure minimal  disruption to the flow of students and staff entering the building.

Function Description 

Students can conveniently access the CIT building by scanning their student ID cards at the ZKTeco flap  barriers FBL400 Pro, ensuring quick and secure entry. In the event that a student forgets their ID card, they can receive assistance and gain access through the ZKTeco swing barrier SBT200S, providing an alternative and reliable solution. These advanced ZKTeco barriers not only streamline campus access but also enhance  security, ensuring that only authorized individuals can enter, thus contributing to a safer and more secure campus environment for all students.
