Pangkalan Susu Steam Power Plant (PLTU Pangkalan Susu) is a coal-fired power plant located in Langkat  Regency, North Sumatra, with a total capacity of 4×200 MW. Units 1 and 2 began operation in 2014, followed  by Units 3 and 4 in 2019–2020. This plant serves as one of the main supports of the North Sumatra power  system, contributing nearly 30% of the regional electricity supply while playing a vital role in maintaining  voltage stability and reducing electricity production costs.

Managed by PLN Indonesia Power, the plant occupies approximately 105 hectares and is equipped with  supporting facilities such as a jetty and coal handling plant. In addition to focusing on reliable electricity  supply, the operator also implements environmental and social programs, including mangrove planting and a  Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology study, to support carbon emission reduction and the transition  toward cleaner energy.
